Genotoxicity (OECD 487)

In vitro Micronucleus Test is a genotoxicity test for the detection of micronuclei (MN) in the cytoplasm of interphase cells during cell division. It may result from chromosomes lacking centromeres or that cannot be polarized at the anaphase stage of cell division. Therefore, this assay is an in vitro method that provides a comprehensive basis for investigating the potential for chromosome damage.
