Acute Systemic Toxicity

Acute systemic toxicity provides general information on health hazards likely to arise from an acute  exposure by the intended clinical route. An acute toxicity study might be an initial step in establishing  a dosage regimen in subacute/subchronic and other studies and may provide information on the mode of toxic action of a substance by the intended clinical exposure route.
